We offer: * Education officer led workshops for all Key Stages, special educational needs and community groups * Resource packs and EFL worksheets for independent visits * Talks and guided tours * School loans boxes, photo packs and reminiscence boxes (see below) * Programme of special educational events running throughout the year * Fully equipped education room, which can be used for lunches and is available for hire We also welcome the opportunity to develop bespoke sessions, where our collection can be used in new and innovative ways. Reminiscence What we offer: Reminiscence Loans Box: The museum’s reminiscence box contains a large collection of everyday ephemera dating from the 1940’s – 1960’s. The box includes items that appeal to a variety of senses including music, visual props, those with a scent and objects which are particularly tactile. For organisations wishing to run their own reminiscence sessions, the box is available for hire on a weekly or monthly basis. Reminiscence Sessions: The museum offers outreach reminiscence sessions facilitated by specially trained staff. Although the therapeutic element of sessions is best with smaller groups, the session can also be run with larger groups who are looking for a fun, sociable activity. The sessions normally take 1hour and include time for tea/coffee. For those groups wishing to incorporate a reminiscence session as part of an outing, there is the option for a museum based session which also includes time to visit the museum and view its large social history collection. Find Out More: If you are interested in booking our reminiscence service or would like to find out more, please contact susan@folkmuseum.org.uk or telephone 01223 355159.
